Ava Hatton

Candidate for Women’s Representative of the Young Liberals

Back

Ava Hatton is a Young Liberal from West Vancouver, British Columbia. She is a third year student at Queen's University, where Ava is pursuing a degree in History.

Ava first became interested in politics in 2015 at the age of ten and has remained actively involved ever since, volunteering in multiple municipal, provincial, and federal elections across British Columbia and Ontario for Liberal candidates. These experiences have given her a broad perspective of Canadian politics and a deep appreciation for the power of participation at every level. This past summer, Ava interned through the Summer Leadership Program, working for MP Hedy Fry in Ottawa and Vancouver while assisting with stakeholder outreach, communications, and constituent relations.

At Queen's, she is the Federal Vice President of the Queen's University Liberal Association (QULA), where she works to strengthen student engagement with the Liberal Party of Canada and support her local MP and MPP. Her experiences in politics have reinforced a passion for public policy, civic engagement, and youth leadership.

Ava credits the women who have encouraged her to be more involved and have acted as role models for shaping her journey in politics. As Women’s Representative, Ava will help pave the way to make the YLC a more inclusive space for women wanting to be involved in politics.
