Back

Lily Ingram is a Young Liberal from Ktaqmkuk, which translates to “across the water/waves.” She grew up in a beautiful small town on the West Coast of Newfoundland and Labrador in the Long Range Mountains district, and she is committed to providing a voice for rural Canadian communities and the people who call them home.

Lily’s interest in politics began in 2015 and has steadily grown ever since. Her political involvement deepened when she began her undergraduate studies at Queen’s University in 2023. She joined the Queen’s University Liberals Association as a First-Year Director, later serving as the I-EDIAA Director, and now holds the position of President. In this role, she leads one of the largest campus Liberal associations in Canada, working with her team to support both Kingston and The Islands’ MP and MPP and their constituencies, foster policy discussions among Young Liberals, and create meaningful opportunities for members to engage with elected officials and staffers.

Alongside her political commitments, Lily is currently in her first year of medical school at Queen’s University, after just two years of undergraduate study in Queen’s Health Sciences. She serves as a junior co-chair of the Queen’s University Indigenous Medical Students Association (QuIMSA) and is the past president of Queen’s University Advancing Indigenous Students in Science and Engineering.

Lily spent the first half of her most recent summer working with the Queen’s–Weeneebayko Partnership as the Student Coordinator for the Summer Student Program, which brings Indigenous students from the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority region to Queen’s for experiential learning in healthcare. In July, she also served as Program Manager for SHAD Dalhousie.

A former board member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Youth Parliament, Lily has contributed to a wide range of boards and committees. She is ready to join the Renaissance slate for her next endeavor being committing to providing voices for Indigenous Youth from across Canada, and hopes to guide YLC in the direction of further reconciliation and empowerment of Indigenous voices.
