Back

Rachel Ohnona is a dedicated Liberal and long-time grassroots organizer with deep experience at every level of political engagement. Currently studying Political Science at the University of Ottawa, Rachel brings both academic insight and on-the-ground political know-how to her candidacy for National Organization Chair.

Rachel’s commitment to the Liberal movement began early and has only grown stronger with time. She has worked on multiple provincial and federal campaigns, where she gained firsthand experience in mobilizing communities, empowering volunteers, and driving winning strategies. As the former President of the University of Ottawa Young Liberals, she successfully revitalized campus engagement and built bridges between youth voices and party leadership.

Rachel has also held multiple positions within Liberal governments, including working for MP Terry Duguid from 2023 to 2024 and serving as the Ontario desk to the Minister of Veterans Affairs. Her experiences give her a deep understanding of how policy and politics intersect. These roles have fueled her passion for building a more inclusive, youth-driven party.

As National Organization Chair, Rachel’s top priority is to unify and empower campus and riding clubs from coast to coast to coast. She is committed to strengthening communication between the Young Liberals of Canada and local organizations, ensuring every club has the tools, support, and voice they need to thrive.
